This past December, I decided to host my 1st Gingerbread Party for my daughter and her cousins at my home. The day was filled with gingerbread houses, sprinkles, painting and a charm bar.
I really loved hosting this themed party around the holidays, which allowed the girls to build special memories together. I can honestly say it was one of my favorite days of the year! Come along and take a look at how we celebrated this year’s Gingerbread themed Christmas party!
I decided to set up my dining room table as the main space for the girls to do all the arts and crafts activities. I love the softness of the pink elements with pops of color from the placemats against the brown paper and wooden nutcracker paint kits.
Each place setting had a mini pre-made gingerbread house, which I think is best so the children can start decorating right away. Otherwise, they have to assemble the house and wait for it to dry prior to decorating. The gingerbread placemats I found at HomeGoods and unfortunately I don’t have a link for them. Down the enter of the table, I placed a combination of Christmas decor, goodie boxes for the girls, and the toppings for the gingerbread houses in little gingerbread themed cups, also from HomeGoods. I recommend selecting a variety of different candies that match the color scheme and theme of your party to really make the gingerbread houses stand out.
Each little girl had their own space to decorate their Gingerbread house with pastel frosting I made and placed in bottles to make it easy for them to decorate without making a big mess. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of them. I found the adorable wooden nutcracker paint sets at Hobby Lobby and I added the pastel paint set from the Dollar Tree to match my theme. As you can see, my daughter loved painting the nutcracker in her Gingerbread Pajamas!
In the corner of the dining room, I set up my bar cart as a Charm bar with Christmas themed charms for the girls to make their own bracelets, key chains and necklaces. The girls were obsessed with the charm bar and really enjoyed choosing charms and making their own jewelry with the help of the mommies. Next to each girls Gingerbread placemat they had their own felt tray with pink pliers to customize their very own jewelry.
As the girls enjoyed decorating and doing all their arts and crafts, the moms sipped on Gingerbread espresso martinis! So yummy and perfect to keep us going for all the activities throughout the day!
